In Q1 2026, at its Budapest, Hungary production site, Luminochem will commission a new UV fluorescent security pigment production unit, doubling production capacity and further strengthening supply reliability.
Intense Development in Recent Years
Over the past two years, Luminochem has made targeted investments to expand and modernize its in-house production capacity. Legacy manufacturing equipment has been replaced with advanced chemical reactor systems, and a new production unit has been integrated into the existing facility. As a result, overall production capacity for UV fluorescent security pigments has doubled, allowing a higher degree of parallel production, increased throughput, and improved delivery robustness.
Luminochem’s increased manufacturing capacity now allows for annual production volumes exceeding 10 metric tons for selected core products, fully based on the company’s own production equipment.
Operational Impact of the Capacity Expansion
The newly added production unit has been integrated into Luminochem’s existing manufacturing infrastructure, increasing the number of chemical reactors available for parallel industrial-scale operation. This setup improves production planning flexibility and makes it possible to execute larger and customer-specific orders without impacting lead times for other products, even at higher overall production volumes.
By further increasing internal redundancy and parallel processing capability, the expanded production platform supports shorter lead times and improved supply security, particularly for long-term and high-volume supply arrangements.
